Nomination deadline March 1
If you know of a great journalist whose achievements have furthered the profession, nominate her or him to the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame by March 1, 2026.
The board of the hall of fame will consider nominees and announce new inductees in spring. New members will be honored at a ceremony in October, details to come.
“We are looking forward to receiving worthy nominations for the 59th annual induction,” said IJHF board president Stephanie Salter. “This organization’s mission is the recognize the contributions of journalists with Hoosier connections, and we know there are many potential candidates for this honor.”
The hall lists eligibility requirements on the website, as well as offers an online method of nominating a candidate. Generally, nominees must have strong ties to Indiana, must have elevated the profession and must have achieved excellence in their work.
The Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame also honors those who have supported journalism through ancillary means with the John P. McMeel Distinguished Service to Journalism Award.
The hall partners with the Butler University College of Communication in Indianapolis to support the nomination process and induction banquet.
